SAT Writing & Language Question Type Inventory - Official (paper) SAT Practice Test 10
Strategies and Practice Drills for Every Question on the Writing & Language Section of Official SAT Practice Test 10
This Question Type Inventory (QTI) corresponds to the Writing & Language section of Official (paper) SAT Practice Test 10 in the Official SAT Study Guide. The first step to increasing your SAT Writing & Language score using this QTI is to complete that section, timed. Then, check your answers to find out what questions you missed, and look up those questions on the below QTI.
The next step is to study the tactics for your most frequently missed question types (QTs) and do a set of corresponding practice drills. Finally, do another Writing & Language section from an official SAT practice test, and start the process again, using the corresponding Quiz Hacker QTI. This is a powerful method for efficiently increasing your score!
Step-by-Step: How to Use This SAT Writing & Language Question Type Inventory (QTI)
Complete the Writing & Language section of Official SAT Practice Test 10 in the Official SAT Study Guide.
Check your answers using the key in the Official SAT Study Guide, and use the below Question Type Inventory (QTI) to count up your number of misses for each Question Type (QT).
Starting with your most frequently missed QT, click the corresponding “Learn the Tactics” links for that QT. For example, if your most frequently missed QT was Comma Questions (ComQ), click any “Learn the ComQ Tactics” link on the below QTI.
After studying the tactics, click on the “Do Drill Set” link/s for that QT, and do the drills. For example, let’s say your most frequently missed QT was Comma Questions (ComQ). In that case, you would first study the ComQ tactics. Then, you would click on any “Do ComQ Drill Set” link and do the drills. If there are two drill sets for one question type, I suggest doing only the first drill set. If you continue to miss the same question type on the next practice test, do the second drill set at that time.
The Importance of Doing the Steps in Order
Attempting to short cut the above process will likely only hamper your progress. Starting with your mostly frequently missed QT, it’s important to first study the associated tactics. After you study the tactics, the next step is to do some Quiz Hacker drills, which will help you to become proficient in applying the tactics.
Available articles on QT tactics are linked directly to the right of the question types on the below QTI. Available drill sets are linked directly to the right of the links to the tactics articles.
