Course Plans
Plan 1: QTI-Based 6-Week Plan (Recommended)
Weekly Practice Test: Take one official digital SAT each week using the College Board’s Bluebook app.
Analyze Misses: Use Walker Prep’s Question Type Inventory (QTI) to track your missed questions by type.
Targeted Study: Study the corresponding strategy articles listed in the QTI, and do the drills linked in the QTI.
Weekly Routine: Repeat the process for six weeks. Adjust the plan as follows:
3-Week Plan: Complete and review two tests per week.
12-Week Plan: Complete and review one test every other week.
Plan 2: Sequential Question Type Study (Less Recommended)
Start with Vocabulary in Context: Study the strategy guide for the first question type in the Reading & Writing section. Then do the corresponding drills. You can find all strategy guides and drills in the course listing.
Progress Weekly: As you master one question type, move on to the next. Go in the order that the question types appear on Official Digital SAT Practice Test 1 in the College Board’s Bluebook app.
Periodic Practice Tests: Every week or two, take an official digital SAT practice test to check your progress.
Drawback: This method may lead to slower score gains as it is less focused on your specific weaknesses.
Introduction to the QTI
The Question Type Inventory (QTI) is a powerful tool to help you analyze your performance on the digital SAT Reading & Writing section and quickly improve your score. It lists the question type for every Reading & Writing question on every official digital SAT practice test. It also links to the strategy guides and drills for those question types. Here’s how it works:
Identify Trouble Spots: Complete an official digital SAT practice test. Then, on the QTI, look up the Reading & Writing questions you missed. The QTI will tell you the question type for each miss.
Learn the Strategies: For each miss, click the corresponding link on the QTI to learn the strategies for that question type.
Targeted Practice: After studying the strategies, go back to the QTI. Click the drill links for each question type you missed, and do the drills.
