The Winter Garden is a novel by Maria Alvarez. In the novel, Alvarez depicts Eleanor Frost as a person who finds solace in creative expression: __

Which quotation from The Winter Garden most effectively illustrates the claim?

A) "She stood at the window watching the snow fall, wondering how much longer the storm would last. The weather forecast had predicted three days of snow, but she had learned not to trust such predictions in this mountainous region."

B) "Eleanor enjoyed her morning tea in the garden, as was her custom before beginning the day's work. The ritual calmed her, as it always did, making the anxiety that had gripped her all morning fade into the background."

C) "The weekly town meetings had become increasingly tense as residents argued about the proposed development. Eleanor found herself speaking up more often now, surprising even herself with her newfound confidence."

D) "When it all became too much, Eleanor retreated to her studio. With each stroke of her brush across canvas, she felt the weight of the world lifting. 'It's as if my pain flows out through my fingers,' she told her sister, 'and what remains is peace.'"
