Below is a comprehensive answer explanation for digital SAT Reading & Writing Question 11, which appears on Module 2 (more difficult track) of Official dSAT Practice Test 2 in the College Board’s Bluebook app. (For those not using the Bluebook app, this question corresponds to Reading & Writing Question 15 of Module 1 of the paper version of dSAT Practice Test 2.)

The College Board calls this a Command of Evidence Question. I believe a more precise, helpful name is: Logical Operations: Weaken (LO:W).

Before reading the explanation, you should familiarize yourself with the recommended strategies for LO:W Questions. You will also want to have a copy of the test open, as I do not quote extensively from the passage text, in order to comply with copyright restrictions. You can find the exam by searching for the Bluebook app on the College Board website.
