Digital SAT Command of Evidence Mastery, Part 2: Graph Questions
Learn Key Strategies for SAT Reading and Writing Questions with Infographics such as Tables, Line Graphs, and Bar Charts. Includes Example Questions with Detailed Explanations and Walk-Throughs!
Welcome back to Walker Prep’s series on Digital SAT Command of Evidence questions! In Part 1, I introduced basic strategies for tackling two Command of Evidence “sub-types” — Logical Operations: Support (LO:S) and Logical Operations: Weaken (LO:W). Now, in Part 2, we’ll focus on LO:S (and LO:W) questions containing infographics, such as tables, line graphs, and bar charts.
Everything discussed in both Part 1 and in this article, Part 2, applies equally to LO:S and LO:W questions. However, since LO:W questions are quite rare, I will primarily discuss LO:S questions for the sake of brevity throughout the rest of this article. Keep in mind that whatever strategies I outline for LO:S questions are also applicable to LO:W.
If you haven't yet read Part 1, I highly recommend you do so, as it sets the groundwork for the techniques and concepts we'll be exploring here.

Infographics: An Extra Layer of Analysis
Many LO:S questions include infographics such as line graphs, tables, or bar charts. While the inclusion of these visual elements does not alter the fundamental nature of the question, it does add some crucial strategic steps to your analysis.
Identifying LO:S Infographic Questions
Identifying by Position
This type of question is interspersed among other LO:S questions in the Reading portion of the Reading & Writing section. Typically, LO:S Questions follow the last Reading Comprehension and Main Idea Questions and precede LO:D questions in every Reading & Writing module.
